Why Elle Woods Is A Great Role Model

She teaches so much more than the "bend and snap."

Why Elle Woods Is A Great Role Model

Ah yes. Elle Woods. She's more than just a sorority girl that loves pink with great hair care and awesome cuticles. She's someone that a lot of girls can actually look up to believe it or not. If you've seen "Legally Blonde" and "Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde" as many times as I have, you'll know exactly why Elle Woods is one of the best TV role models, and if not, well you're about to find out.

She stands up for what she believes in

Elle woods is not one to be shot down easily. She doesn't just blindly follow people and their ideas, but comes up with her own and doesn't give up on what she wants. For example, no matter how many times Bruiser's Bill (The bill against testing on animals) was shot down, she continued to stand up for what she believed in and those without a voice to make a difference.

She's trustworthy

It doesn't matter what other people say, Elle forms her own opinion about someone and helps them in anyway she can. In the first movie, even though she knew Brooke Wyndham's alibi to the murder trial, she is sworn to secrecy. Even without telling everyone what Brooke's alibi was, she was able to win the case. She never betrays anyone in order to get ahead in life.

She doesn't let anyone put her down

While a snide remark from someone may get her down for a second, Elle is able to bounce back to her peppy self and come out even stronger.

She uses her strength

Elle has many strengths and she's uses all of them to her ability. Her expert knowledge on hair care? Solved a murder case. Her ability to connect with her sorority sisters? Brings several to the Million Dog March to help pass Bruisers bill. Even if her strengths are different than most people, she uses them all to the best of her ability.

She's a good friend

She's always there for her friends no matter what the circumstances are. She helps Brooke Wyndham in her time of need during the murder trial. She's there for Paulette when she needs a confidence booster to get the UPS man. She values and respects all people in her life and always tries her best to put them first.

She's always positive

She never let's someones bad attitude take down her positive one. She always tries to make things better and is able to do that with her attitude always being so positive.

She aspired to be better

She always knows that she can do better things in her life. She attends Harvard at first to get Warner back, but then realizes that she can better herself while she's there. She's always looking for bigger and better things to not only help her, but her friends too.

She's always kind

Even to people that aren't kind to her, she always is. Elle's ability to be kind to everyone is something we all should look up to.

She has so much self confidence

She knows she is good enough and won't let anyone tell her differently. When she first gets to Harvard, almost everyone tells her she's not going to make it, but she proves them wrong. When she gets to D.C., she is again told by everyone she isn't going to make it. With the confidence she has, she is always coming out on top.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
