Summer vacation has began for most college students and is on its way for other people. While the temperatures climb higher, more people flock to the beach. This is the time of year where individuals either fear or take pride in slipping into a bathing suit. However, having that "beach bod" ready hasn't made me anxious. I don't have the perfect look but that won't stop me from enjoying tanning out on the sand. As the years go on, I have learned that you cannot be completely happy unless you love yourself entirely. Why not embrace the stretch marks or broad shoulders? As long as you try and keep your body healthy that should be your only priority.
I am not hating on those who work hard to look fantastic in a bikini. Their training and exercises are a strict regime to stick to. I may not have a six pack but I eat a well balanced diet and build stamina by running. For some girls, such as myself, we just have a larger frame and are used to the fact we look different in swim wear. Treat your body kindly and embrace all of your curves. Plus, even if I don't have a limited diet I love indulging in treats. Go ahead and eat that ice cream cone on the boardwalk. You deserve to treat yourself without the guilt. The beach is suppose to create fun memories, therefore I'm going to recall the time I ate that delicious funnel cake after hours of swimming in ocean.
To be quite honest, no one is going to pay attention to how you appear in a swimsuit. Everyone just wants to carry on with their day and relax. I'm sure that your friends and family will positively reassure you that you look fine. The only opinion that matters is your own. Wear any bikini or one piece you desire. Everyone has a different definition of the "perfect" body. But just so you know: you don't have to change a thing.
There's no need to cover up when the sun is blazing in the sky. All girls have the right to stay cool and wear short, loose clothes. I shouldn't have to suffer from heatstroke because you don't think I should show off my legs. All I ask is that people wear tasteful and appropriate clothes, especially when around younger children. Your body is meant to be free.
Basically, there is no need to fret about how you will look on the beach this summer. If you want to improve your physique, that's great. However, it is who you are as a human that makes people respect you. Your physical body can only extend so far to express who you are. I'd rather show off my thighs and tiny stomach chub while still knowing that I am a loveable and genuine person.
