Why Do Apparel Retailers Need 3D Body Measurement Technology?

The recent pandemic brought the entire world to a sudden halt which changed more or less everything. This consequently meant the temporary closure of physical stores, which opened many doors for eCommerce stores dealing in apparel. It is fair to say that eCommerce businesses made the most of this time to enhance their profits and revenue by deploying many eCommerce conversion hacks.

One such hack was the rise in the use and prevalence of 3D body measurement technology. Many apparel businesses benefited from this technology mainly because of the perks that come with it. But what are these perks? Let's find out.

What Is 3D Body Measurement Technology?

This is a body scanning technique where advanced imaging technology is combined with infrared depth sensing to generate a contour of the customer's body shape. This helps businesses get an extensive list of all body measurements, and this data is further used for simulating garment draping, pattern creation, and even 3D body tracking.

Consumers can leverage different body measurement software to upload the metrics of their size and find clothes that fit them accurately. Furthermore, this has helped businesses enhance the customer experience to a great extent.

Reasons Why Apparel Retailers Need This Technology

As more and more people are choosing online platforms to purchase their clothing items, businesses need to ensure that they deliver the best experience to their customers. But apart from that, there are other perks of the 3D body measurement technology that includes:

  1. Promoting Positive Body Image: Nothing makes shoppers happier than finding a dress or clothing item that fits them ideally. Hence when one uses body measurement software and finds a dress that offers perfect fitting, it automatically boosts their confidence. Furthermore, this is a technology through which customers can find the perfect fit and evaluate how the item will look on them.
  1. Reduced Returns: The biggest challenge faced by almost all eCommerce businesses these days is dealing with the returns. These returns can be very costly for businesses which further eats into their profits and revenue. This is more prevalent in the apparel industry as it can be challenging to understand the size virtually.

The 3D body measurement technology helps the customers to evaluate the fittings of the clothing items before placing the order. In addition, this technology also has the competence of predicting wrong sizes. This certainly helps a great deal in reducing the number of returns that the apparel business has to deal with.

  1. Better For The Environment: This often goes unnoticed, but it accounts for significant wastage when a customer returns any ill-fitted clothing items.

However, the 3D body measurement technology helps them try out the clothes before buying them. This further reduces the number of returns, ultimately resulting in reducing the waste generated to a great extent.

In Conclusion

It is fair to say that advancements in technology are changing almost everything, even the way one buys clothes. However, it is also true that this is a good chance that will benefit both businesses and customers alike. Therefore, every apparel business must pour in resources to leverage this technology and grow their business for good.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
