Why Disney Is Awsome

Everybody loves movies. Whether the movie genre is action or romance, comedy or horror, everyone has their favorite. One thing that almost everyone has in common with their movie taste is their love for Disney movies. Disney movies have a tendency to bring out the kid in everyone and it brings people together from all different backgrounds.

As for me an my roommates, if someone throws on a disney movie earlier during the day we will all sit down and watch it. It gives us a bonding time out of our busy lives and it allows us to sit down and rest. We all laugh over the funny one liners that Disney has woven into the dialect. We all laugh at the funny parts and cry when Disney decides to play at our heart strings. While I am writing this story we are watching Robin Hood. We are spending time together while doing homework and watching a movie. Instead of us being cooped up in our rooms doing our own things, these Disney movies bring us together.

Disney movies have been around for over 80 years. The first movie Disney made was Snow White and the Seven Dawrfs. The most recent movie Disney is in the process of finishing producing is Mona and she will be the newest Disney princess. I believe that Walt Disney had no idea how much of an impact in the world he would have even after death. While Disney is most know for his princess movies he made, he has made many non princess movies including all the Toy Stories, The Black Cauldron, The Sword in the Stone, and so many more. All of Disney's movies have been a huge hit even if certain ones may create a controversy among the viewers.

In addition to making movies, Disney also created a park that lead to more parks all across the world. These parks have brought many families together to celebrate birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, and more. These parks allow little boys and girls to meet their Disney heroes and heroines. Girls can get the autograph of their favorite princess or their favorite fairy from Pixie Hollow while boys can get their autographs from Woody, Buzz, and the rest of gang. Most families go during the summer and their kids are bragging at how much fun that they had over the summer meeting their favorite hero and spending time with their family.

All in all Disney is the best thing to happen to this world. Disney has a magical way of bringing people together. I personally love to sit down and watch Disney movies with a bag of popcorn and some friends. Disney has and always will bring people together from all different backgrounds.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
