9 Reasons Why I Didn't Write A Letter To My Ex

Disclaimer: I have nothing against those who have chosen to write a letter to their ex. I just noticed that the letters were becoming more and more popular and I wanted to make a rebuttal. Not because I don't like the letters, but because I feel like my two most previous exes don't deserve that type of attention. Instead, I want to bring attention to the damage of their cruel words and the unloving actions brought forth. I want to highlight the betrayal and the denial.

1. I didn't write a letter to my ex-boyfriend telling him that I'm okay and that I hope he finds someone good one day.

Because really I'm NOT okay.

2. I didn't write a letter to my ex-boyfriend telling him that I've learned from his mistakes or that I'm thankful for my heartbreak.

3. I didn't write a letter to my ex-boyfriend praying that he'll miss me later on or asking him if he's sad I'm gone.

4. Instead I wrote about how he did me wrong: the dirty names he called and the ugly fights lasting long.

5. Instead I wrote about all the disappointment, tears, and hurt that came from his betrayal and all the anger, shock, and rage that came from his denial.

6. Instead I made a new statement.

A statement in hopes to remind him that sorry only goes so far and forgiveness only lasts so long.

7. A statement that the memories last me forever.

No matter how wrong.

8. I didn't write a letter to my ex-boyfriend because I'd hope he'd learn to be better.

9. Instead I wrote a listicle rejecting the "letter."
