Why I Cried At The Halsey Concert

Because she's perfect, that's why.

Here I am once again, writing about music. If you hate it, I'm not sorry. It's the only thing I care about that is not edible and that I cannot wear.

Nevertheless, I finally went to another concert and let me just say I WAS LIVING!!! That is that eighth concert I've been to and this was definitely one of the best ones!

First of all, I saw Halsey who is a queen, a sweetheart and an inspiration to me. I've loved her for a few years now and when she did her Badlands tour she didn't come to a place that was close and convenient for me, so I didn't get to see her.

Halsey is a sweetheart because she gives so much to her fans and cares so much about them.

She also puts her heart and soul into her music and it really means a lot to her and it means a lot to us and I really think that that is so beautiful and important.

Halsey often writes songs about difficult subjects but the way that she is so open and honest about her struggles and her past is so pure and sweet to me.

Halsey is an inspiration to me especially because she's young and confident and she does what she wants.

Most importantly, Halsey is bisexual and having a positive bi role model is really important not just for me but for younger people who don't really see themselves or their sexuality represented in a positive way.

The aesthetic is everything to me.

Why else would it be one of my favorite words?

Halsey's tour is definitely one of the most aesthetically pleasing shows I have ever witnessed.

She had confetti, pyrotechnics and amazing lighting. There was water, wardrobe changes, video visuals and colorful visuals. She truly puts on a show for the ears as well as the eyes.

As far as setlists go, it could've been better. I'm being brutally honest when I say that Badlands was not her best work so there were a few songs that she sang from that album where I was like "eh."

I mean obviously, I was still screaming and dying but less so... But my favorite song on the setlist was "Is There Somewhere" because it's so heartfelt and that song happens to be about another one of my favorite people.

I've cried to it so many times and just hearing it live made me feel so much that I started sobbing. Which doesn't sound like it would be my favorite but it is because it's one of her older songs and the fact that she still performs it makes my heart happy.

My favorite moments were both of the confetti drops she did because they were so beautiful yet so unexpected. She even has butterfly-shaped confetti that I still have pieces of in my purse.

Halsey gets up close with her fans and lets them hug her and touch her and it feels so intimate like friends hanging out and not people in an arena to see a star.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
