If you know me at all, you know that I am a huge fan of country music. There are several reasons that I can rattle off on why this is the case, but for the purpose of this article I will only name a few.

Contrary to popular belief, country music is not all about people getting their dogs run over by cars, or your wife leaving you. It has dimensions that other music does not have, in my opinion. It can be serious, funny or anything in between and that is what makes it so unique.

There are several other genres that music is played from the soul. R&B is one of those genres and there are definitely some country music that has some R&B roots, especially some of the earlier country music.

Personally, I really like the whimsical country music. One of my favorite bands in Florida Georgia Line who has a ton of hits. Some definitely more playful then others. One of their more popular songs is with performer Nelly, a song known as Cruise. Though this is considered to be the “pop-y” country I still think it is a good song. This is not to say that they don’t have a set of serious songs. On their most recent album, they have a plethora of some deep music.

It just makes you feel good when you listen to country music. You can’t help but smile with the windows down in your car, the beautiful sunshine and some good country music on the radio. There is no better feeling on Earth.

Hearing country on the radio is one thing, but going to a live concert is a different story all together. That is awesome itself, the people just seem to be nicer there in general. Everyone is drinking at a country concert, which is a given, and usually drunk people are very happy.

Also, from my experience country stars are very humble and very nice. I have gone to concerts where they want to meet the fans, and the fame and fortune does not get to them. That is something I really appreciate about country music stars.

For those people who hate on country, honestly give it try. It might make you a happier person in the long run.
