Why Corinne From "The Bachelor" Is The Best
This Is Insider

Here me out, Corinne Olympios is the best thing to come out of this "Bachelor" season. Although many viewers and other women on the show seem to despise her, I have grown to have a strong affection for this firecracker of a woman.

When I first started this show, I didn't think much of this larger-than-life contestant. My views have significantly changed since then, and for good reasons.

She knows what she wants, and she is not afraid to go for it.

On the show, she is portrayed as a royal brat. But there is an indisputable charm to her unapologetic privilege and taste for the finer things in life. She has no shame for wanting the best for herself and she puts effort into the relationships that matter for her.

This is a girl who prioritizes self-care. You aren't pleased when she does -- aka take a nap instead of attending a rose ceremony -- but you totally get it.

Award winning TV producer and director Liz Elkington tells ENTITY the allure of a bad girl is perfect for television. “In a world where many of us feel an overwhelming number of rules, restrictions and red tape, women who play by their own rules and will try just about anything can be incredibly appealing.”

She thinks big and doesn't sweat the small things.

Olympios reminded all her cast-mates why they were on a reality TV show after they antagonized her for interrupting others to spend time with Nick: “It’s gonna get uncomfortable. It’s gonna get crazy. It’s gonna get weird. But you have to get used to this. . . No matter how it makes other people feel, you have to be there for yourself.”

She has a solid point here! It's refreshing to see someone not trying to follow all the rules, who is worried about other people's opinions. She doesn’t care! And her confidence is what sets her apart.

"I'm a corn husk: you gotta pull all the layers back. And in the middle is this luxury, yellow corn."

Oh Corinne, you can bet we all want to get in that corn.

Let's face it: Nick is a pretty boring Bachelor and he kind of looks like a cotton swab. After four seasons of reality TV, it’s hard to believe he is actually trying to find love and not ust trying to find his paycheck. Honestly, who cares which long-haired brunette he is going to propose to this time.

Olympios is a breath of fresh air. She stole the show, and it was sad to see her go. She may not be the hero we asked for, but she is the hero we deserve.

She is sexually confident.

Olympios said it best, "My heart is gold and my vagine is platinum" and spoke openly about wanting to sleep with Viall.

Of course her sexuality quickly became a target for slut-shaming early in the season. One contestant even called her a "ho" after she was the first to kiss Nick. To Olympio's credit, she didn’t let the other women bring her down.

I like seeing a girl that knows what she wants. She is not ashamed to go for it, even if it means making some enemies along the way, she is always true to herself.

There are many lessons we can take away from watching Olympios, and rumor has it we may be seeing her own spin-off in the future.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
