Why Do College Students Go Out So Late, Regardless Of Their 8 AM The Next Morning?

Staying out until 4 a.m. is great, until your alarm goes off at 8 a.m. the next morning

Why Do College Students Go Out So Late, Regardless Of Their 8 AM The Next Morning?

Why has it become the norm to go out at 10 or 11 p.m.? Why has it become almost mandatory to stay out on a 'normal' night until 4 a.m.? We have class, clubs, involvement, and internships the next day, yet no one seems to give it much thought.

I'm petitioning for a soft 8 p.m. opening in the future. I'll accept 9, even close to 10 for those real night owls. But at 11 p.m.? Ridiculous. There's no reason your night should start at 11 p.m., especially when the bars stop serving at 1:45 a.m. Leaving that late in Manhattan I completely understand, especially because last call is typically 3:45 a.m.

Let's timeline this out: start getting ready around eight, pregame around 10, leave around 11, get to the bar by 11:30. That leaves two hours before last call.

Everyone is already out, which is great because you see all your friends inside … while you're waiting in the one in one out line. So maybe you're in by 12:15 a.m., with a drink in your hand by 12:30. Only one hour left until last call.

Yes, you had the whole day and didn't get ready until 9 p.m., but what about the next day? The next day you will be useless all morning because you went to bed at 2:30, 3 a.m. and woke up at noon or 2 p.m.

If you were out by 8:30 p.m., you would have several more hours of bar time and would probably be in bed by midnight or 1 a.m.

I love going out with my friends, but I also love my bed. It would be so nice to have a fun night out with friends and crawling into bed knowing you'll get at least six or seven hours of sleep. With that, I am petitioning for at least an 8:30 p.m. opening for all bars and clubs, who's with me?

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
