Why Chip And Joanna Gaines Are Taking Over The World

Chip and Joanna Gaines have taken over the world.

The down to earth texan couple has stolen the hearts of many people. Waco, Texas now has been given a more positive image. The reason why people have fallen in love with them is because they are just a normal couple that gets to do what they both love.

The women who watch love Joanna because she is so simple. She takes a piece of old worthless trash and turns it into something beautiful. Her style is simple and stays true to who she is.

The men love Chip because he is a hard working father. He does not have a 6 pack but rocks a dad bod. He sweats and puts in in the hard work like the rest of The Boys. He gets down and dirty and is so excited for every demo day.

Their story is amazing. Joanna and Chip both attended Baylor University. Joanna was a communications major and Chip majored in business. Joanna had no experience in design at all. Every design of Joanna's is self-taught.

Their story goes a little something like this.

Joanna worked in her dad's’ tire shop. On one uneventful day a guy named Chip tagged along with his friend who was getting his car done at Joanna’s father's tire shop. She met Chip and they hit it off immediately because Chip was his goofy self and easy to get along with. Eventually, Joanna landed her first date with him. Here’s the catch: Chip showed up 90 minutes late and did not even have any specific plans. After that first date, Joanna did not hear from him for nine months. Chip finally called and asked for a second date. Joanna thought she was crazy to even accept a second a date from him after he left her hanging for 9 months but she ended uo saying yes and from then her life was flipped upside down.

Chip began his own business of buying cheap houses, flipping them, and then selling them for a profit. Chip was fantastic at this. He was handy with tools and self taught himself a majority of the skills he has. Joanna decided to check out this little business of his. She began giving him her opinion on decoration and Chip loved her ideas. They were cute and charming. People began to see their work and asked them if they could remodel their kitchen or family room. Eventually, their name spread throughout the town and they had enough revenue to form a demolition and remodel team called The Boys.

A worker for HGTV saw some of Joanna's blog posts and contacted Chip about a TV show deal. Chip thought it was a scam. Finally ,they called HGTV back, the TV crew went to Texas and they did their run of what the TV show would look like. Long story short, Chip and Joanna were awful, just awful. The cameras freaked them out and nothing was natural. The producer told them they had one more day to work a miracle. On the last day to show the crew that they had what it takes to have a show, Chip surprised Joanna with a house boat. A broken down, ram shackled house boat. Joanna was furious with the fact that Chip has bought another house without her knowing. She and Chip argued but eventually began to brainstorm about how they could remodel the boat. The great part is that the camera crew got the whole scene on tape. The show finally got to see how the Gaines work as a team. The producer then sent in the tape and soon after, they found out they were going to have a show.

Fixer Upper is a show for the family. Chip and Joanna are such a great couple and are a great example of how marriage should be. Marriage is a team effort and Gaines have been a team even before they got married.

Since the very beginning, they have worked hard to get to where they are at. Nothing was handed to them. They worked hard and struggled to get by for days before they saw any profit. Chip and Joanna are an excellent couple for anyone to admire and look up to. Cheers to the Gaines for their success and for keeping Christ the center of their lives.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week.
