6 Reasons Why Chick-Fil-A Is The Best First Job

We all know the popular chicken food chain Chick-Fil-A, known for its fast service and friendly staff. However, people who don't work there seldom think about the training and processes Chick-Fil-A employees go through to make the experience so enjoyable. These are the reasons why Chick-Fil-A is the best first job ever.

1. The Company is Amazing

Chick Fil A was founded by S. Truett Cathy in 1946 in Hapeville, Georgia. This is where it all began with the little restaurant called "The Dwarf House." Cathy created the ever famous Chick-Fil-A Chicken Sandwich recipe in 1964 right at the Dwarf House, and ever since has built an empire of what we know to be Chick-Fil-A today. Sadly, Cathy passed in 2014, but the business is still privately and family owned by the Cathy family. Because it is family owned and operated, they stand by their values and beliefs and make sure that all of the operators are up to par with the standards of customer service and leadership ability.

2. The Operators Are Phenomenal

I've had the honor of working with two different Chick-Fil-A operators in my time working with the company, and both of them were phenomenal bosses. They always asked how I was doing, checked up on my progress in school and in my personal life, and all around continued to care for me outside of work, let alone at work. They've given me opportunities in the store that I can't even begin to thank them for, promoted me and saw my potential. They built me up and continued to help me grow with the company, and I couldn't thank them enough for that.

3. The Training Mechanisms Can Be Used Throughout Life, Not Just In The Company

At Chick-Fil-A , the food is amazing, but everyone knows that the employees are what keeps people coming back. We have so many training mechanisms and aphorisms that help us achieve that level of customer service. The core purpose of Chick-Fil-A is to touch the lives around us, and then serve great food. It's all about making sure we keep guests leaving with a smile on their faces. This can be applied to any job you work, and is a great reason why this is a great first job. It sets a foundation for treating customers with dignity and respect, and always keeping a positive attitude when serving other people. After all, life is about service to one another.

4. The Company Offers Scholarships

Chick-Fil-A offers scholarships to employees! This is just one of the many examples of how they give back to the people who work for them. They care about the outcome of our futures and help us along the journey.

5. You Gain Life Long Friends That Become Family

I have met some of my best friends because of working at Chick-Fil-A . We bond over the happenings at work and we get together outside of work to help each other and to have fun. Because I have Chick-Fil-A , I not only have friends, I have a second family. That is irreplaceable.

6. Closed. On. Sunday.

Need I say more? Everyone is guaranteed a day off every single week. For those who profess a Christian faith, this gives them the opportunity to go to church and spend time with their families. For the rest, it's just some good old time off. There isn't anything wrong with that! Although we love workng for our beloved company, some time off every week is pretty nice.

No matter who you are, what background you come from, all employees are loved and cherished. It's not just work, it's a family, and each and every person learns responsibility, character building, and teamwork. I can honestly say I was so fortunate to build my work ethic working with such an amazing company, and it will forever impact my future. I strongly encourage anyone who's looking for their first job to apply at a Chick-Fil-A, you won't regret it.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
