I like to give myself the benefit of the doubt that I am not the same person I was in the past, nor will I be the same person I am today in the future. Most people claim to hate change, but for me I think it's one of the most interesting and exciting parts of growing up. I get why people hate change, I really do. Routine is something that makes us, as humans, feel comfortable. Allowing change to happen in our lives creates a sense of vulnerability to whatever life may throw at us next.
Not knowing what may happen in the future doesn't bother me much at all. I know that God won't throw something my way that I can't handle. When I moved out of my hometown that I lived in for my whole life, I knew that my life was ultimately beginning. I'm not the same girl I was at 18 when I moved to a different state than my family, and I love to see how much I've grown into a young women on my own since that summer.
I'm a big believer that no matter what, you should always follow your heart. Don't be afraid to fall in love, move spontaneously across the country, or stand up for what you believe in. Remove all of the toxic people in your life, and replace them with people who will support you and help build you up instead of knocking you down. People come in and out of your life for a purpose, so don't be afraid to let them.
We all change in our lives at different paces. Some of us will be married with a family at 25, others of us will start that part of our lives much later. We're all different with different lives, so there's no reason to judge someone or question them if they're not in the same stage of life as you currently are.
I am not done changing, and I don't think I ever will be. Imagine for a second how boring life would be if it stayed the same. Change is a good thing if you allow it to be, so go out into the world, discover who you are, and never be afraid to change.
