Why Boxers Make The Best Pets

Floppy ears, slobber, underbite, and all, Boxers are the best pets.

Why Boxers Make The Best Pets

1. They have so much positive energy.

Boxers are energetic, for better or worse. They are called boxers for a reason. Whenever they are excited to see you, then jump up on their hind legs and "box" you with their front legs. It's really adorable unless you just aren't a dog person. In which case, we can't be friends.

2. They're just so freakin' cute and photograph really well.

3. They don't shed that much.

There is no avoiding hair everywhere when you have a dog, but boxers are definitely on the less severe end of the spectrum. They have short hair which never comes off in clumps when you pet them. It makes life a lot easier.

4. They aren't smelly.

I mean, dogs in general don't smell all rosy 24/7, but boxers sure don't have that unmistakable, "Oh my goodness, this person has like 10 dogs," smell. Maybe I'm biased, but I think they have the softest, cutest little scent.

5. It is customary to cut their tails as puppies, making your life a lot easier.

Boxers are extremely energetic dogs, so a long tail thwacking constantly just would not do. It is customary to snip boxers' tails when they are puppies, although not all boxer owners do. NOTE: Dogs' tails can ONLY be cut when they are puppies … dogs use their tails for balance, and thus cutting their tails after they learn to walk with them prevent them from ever walking properly again.

6. They are easily the most loyal dogs on the planet.

Once we left the gate open while my dog was playing in the backyard, and I was terrified to think she had run away. I immediately ran to the garage door to run outside in hopes of finding her. My heart melted when I came upon my sweet girl sitting patiently at the door of the garage, waiting to be let back into the house. Boxers love nothing more than to be home with their loved ones. It is always a treat to come home from vacation and seeing her reaction to our faces.

7. They love to snuggle.

They might have more energy than they know what to do with, but they sure know how to be gentle. They like to get as close as is humanly/canine-ly possible because they just love being with you.

8. They have the cutest underbites.

Not all do, but it isn't uncommon to see a boxer with a killer underbite. Sometimes it comes across as scary, but most of the time, it just makes them look particularly goofy.

9. They're smart, even when they like to make you think they are not.

Oh, don't be fooled. They do know English, even though they'd like you to think that they don't. They know what "food," "walk," and "treat" mean even if they can't seem to figure out for the life of them what "sit," "stay," and "come" mean. Selective hearing at its finest, but still, they're so cute.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
