As someone who goes to school in Boston, I can tell you just how terrible it really is. All the college students, food, and events are downright awful. Here are the worst things about Boston.
1. The food here is disgusting.
The seafood here is terrible. I mean, who comes to New England for seafood? It's just not good enough here. And don't even try to find delicious Italian food in the North End. Good restaurants are few and far between here. *yawn*
2. People here are slow walkers.
Living here makes you an even slower walker. We don't have places to be or people to see. Why would we have to walk fast?
3. The art here is horrible.
Not only is the art here terrible, there are very few museums to go to. Museum of Fine Arts? Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum? What are those? Never heard of them.
4. The shows here are awful, too.
Let's face it: The Theater District is arguably the worst place in Boston. There are no late-night "Rocky Horror Picture Show" performances, no off-Broadway shows, and certainly no short films directed here by Emerson College students. There's simply no room for the performing arts in Boston.
5. There's no way to be politically involved here.
Think about it: Would politicians really make the time to travel to a highly populated city that's bustling with 250,000 college students? What a waste of time and campaign funding. Here in Boston, we don't even have a major newspaper or news station to give us information on what's happening in politics. We're clueless.
6. The lingo here is so annoying.
It's wicked annoying, if I say so myself. And the accent? Ugh, please. It gets even worse when the Red Sahks ah in tahwn, and people from Hahvahd yahd come fuh duh Sahks game. I certainly didn't grow up tahkin' like this.
7. There's absolutely NO history here.
No monuments, no re-enactments, no Boston Tea Party. None of that. Nuh-uh. I've never walked the Freedom Trail, or on cobblestone streets. Where would you even find those things here in Boston?
In all seriousness, Boston is one of my favorite cities. Ya bettah come fuh a visit!
