I am so sick of hearing about one body types hate of another, simply because one is the "ideal" image of what men or women want.
NEWS FLASH! Everyone has a different shape or weight. The thing is that no one type is better.
There, I said it.
Everyone is beautiful in their own way. I'm so tired of people saying skinny girls over thick, or vice versa. You are entitled to your opinion, but once it disrespects an innocent person, I have none for you. If you are not satisfied with the way you look, that is a matter of your own opinions but that is no reason to bully someone over something that they can't control.
Most of our generation has been drowned in the labels that uneducated people have given us and we are naïve enough to go along with it. But then again, it is impossible to ignore it with how "in your face" it is. Rappers degrade women and exploit them with their opinions of a perfect body and what they would do to one if they got her for a night, or with young men and women making disrespectful memes of a perfect body while downgrading another. It's never fun being compared to another person let alone it becoming an everyday thing.
That girl you called anorexic is actually extremely healthy, despite a quick metabolism and that girl you called fat has a metabolic disorder passed down through her parent's genetics.
Now look at that, you bullied someone for their physical appearance rather than asking their story or thinking before your rude comments spilled out of your unfiltered mouth.
Personally, I am as skinny as they come, due to no fault of my own. I am that skinny girl you called anorexic when in all reality, I could eat an entire buffet to myself. Ever since I've been asked in front of an entire class if I was anorexic, it has taken me years to finally stop caring about what strangers thought of me and my body.
Your body is something you cannot hide well, but the thing is we all deserve to be completely and utterly comfortable in the skin we are blessed to be in. It is no ones right to tell you that you are not the ideal based solely on their opinions with no facts. If they are not your doctor then your body is none of their concern.
We fail to see what we are doing to ourselves and others when we make constant remarks and comparisons to each other. We as a generation need to help lift the confidence of others so much so that we can all learn to love ourselves after all the damage we have gone through. The cruel reality is that we have all been subject to body shaming or have been bullied for our body type so why not put these ideas of perfection to rest and live life comfortably and happily without having to worry about something we cannot control. Be beautifully happy to where people admire your confidence rather than your body. Wake up America its time for a change!
