For the fellow lovers of the newly popular shoe, Birkenstocks, you know that these are the best and most comfortable shoes your feet have ever stepped into. Birkenstocks, or Birks for short, have recently become popular in the college/white girl scene. In high school, most girls wouldn't be caught dead wearing these "jesus sandals", but now they're all the rage on campuses everywhere. Birks are made of a cork sole and have usually 2 leather straps going across of the top of the foot. The shoe is so popular because once broken in, your foot is molded to the shoe so it becomes personally fitted to fit the shape of anyones foot. Birks are always my number one choice of footwear, and here's why...
1. They're so comfortable.
One can easily stand on their feet during an 8 hour shift wearing Birks and not have to deal with horrible pain in the legs and feet afterwords. I would wear my birks to work everyday in the summer and never regretted it once.
2. They match any outfit.
You can wear Birks and running shorts or Birks and a sundress and not stick out and look like you don't know how to put an outfit together. They can fill in for an uncomfortable pair of wedges and not take away from the look you're going for, ever. They're the perfect shoe to guarantee to match with whatever you feel like throwing on in the morning and heading out the door. Also, the color options of the shoes are all very natural, meaning that you won't regret buying a certain color because it doesn't match with anything. Almost every option can be worn as an everyday shoe just because it will match with everything.
3. They last forever.
My friends have had their Birks for over 3 years and they still are holding up just as they were when they were a year old. Even though they're not designed to be a shoe that can get wet, they won't be ruined because you wear them when you forget it's supposed to rain. They're a quality made shoe that is worth the money that you'll have forever.
4. They're easy and convenient.
If you just want to walk down the hall of your dorm to see your friend or even head to get a midnight snack from the cafeteria, Birks are a perfect choice. You don't have to waste time lacing up your shoes or putting flip flops on, especially if it's starting to get colder outside. Birks are the perfect option because you can slide them on and be out the door in seconds. (if its cold you can even throw on a pair of cute socks and head out the door... because who doesn't like socks and Birks, right?)
There doesn't seem to be a better option than Birkenstocks, to me. 10/10 would recommend investing in a pair of Birkenstocks, I promise you won't regret it.
