Some people think being without a significant other makes them a complete loner, but I am here to tell you there is so many good attributes that come with being single! Here are a few great benefits of the riding solo life.

Time for Yourself

Every person needs time to enjoy life on their own. This is the point where you can reach out and discover your own personality. You get to find out the things that make you happy and also find out the things that really tick you off. You get to do anything you want and make decisions only for yourself.

Get to Spend More Time With Your Friends

Usually if you gain a significant other, you have to spend less time with your fun and kooky friends. If you are single, you can pretty much spend as much time as you want with them. You do not have to worry about trying to please both parties or being fought over.

You’re Not Tied Down

Being single means you are on the market right? This means you can go out on a Friday night and run into an attractive person, and you can totally flirt with him. Without the strings attached, you are free to just get out and be your crazy self around anyone. You also get to meet a variety of people, which in return, gives you an opportunity to find out what kind of people you mesh with well.

You Don’t Have to Shave

That’s right, you see it. You do not really have anyone you want to impress. So, who cares if you have hairy body parts? No one, you can feel free to rock the nasty unkempt beard or flaunt the prickly cactus legs. Either way, it is ultimately whatever makes you comfortable.

You Can Wear Anything You Want

Like stated previously, you are not trying to impress anyone. If you want to dress lazy and wear sweat pants, go for it! If you want to dress classy with a suit and tie, do it! Let say you want to wear that slim, sexy, red dress you’ve got tucked away in your closet, wear it! It is your decision and no one is going to challenge your own individuality.

You Can Jam to Songs About being Single

Many celebrities have written songs about the joys of being single. You can pretty much listen to those on repeat. For instance, when you go on a road trip with some of your closest friends, you can blast these kinds of songs and sing along. Some of the songs are: “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” by Cindy Lauper, “Single ladies” by Beyonce, “It’s my Life” by Bon Jovi, “Single” by Natasha Bedingfield, “I Don’t Wanna Be in Love” by Good Charlotte, "Ridin’ Solo" by Jason Derulo, “U + Ur Hand" by P!nk, and many more.

With that said, go out and get your dance on. Enjoy your freedom while you have it!

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
