I hate pictures like this:
You're probably asking yourself why I hate these pictures. You might be saying to yourself, "It's so true! What doesn't she get about these?" I understand. I was asking myself those same questions not too long ago. But then I had a realization. I can't tell people what to do.
But that's not it, right? That's not the point of the picture, right? You just want people to do good and be well and be the best them they can be.
But what's so wrong with Kim Kardashian?
Honestly. Think about it. Kim Kardashian hasn't really done anything wrong. There's not really a reason that she ever became famous, sure. I guess. But people keep pushing her and her family into the limelight. Her siblings have their own lives and careers now. Her family is branching off and actually making names for themselves. Would I, personally, do what they're doing? No, because I can't. I don't have access to their world or their resources. But I'm also a completely different person with a completely different idea of what I want my life to be.
And that's okay. That's exactly what the world is supposed to be.
We are supposed to be different. We are supposed to be a mix of Kims and Audreys and Princess Dianas. Diversity is what makes us thrive as a society and as a community. We learn from each other. We support one another. But most importantly, we love one another. If we don't, where does that leave us?
Don't be afraid of being a Kim Kardashian. If that's who you want to be, go for it. If you want to be an Audrey Hepburn, be the best Audrey Hepburn you can be. Just don't let that get in the way of appreciating others for who they want to be.
I like to live by this motto, even if it is cliched: "Treat others the way you want to be treated."
