1. They’re cute.
Let’s all face it: Babies are adorable little aliens with cute elbow dimples and wrist rolls, and old people are endearingly shriveled
.
2. They can both get on your nerves.
Whether a baby spits up on your favorite sweater or knocks the Cheerios off the counter for the 100th time, they can be extremely frustrating. Similarly, the elderly can be kind of blind (not necessarily literally) about todays society.
3. Both need a lot of help—particularly transformation wise.
Grandparents and grandchildren are suddenly one, because they both need rides/carpools everywhere.
4. Bald spots.
They can each rock the peach fuzz. Enough said
.
5. They have wisdom in their eyes.
We're not sure why some babies look like they've seen the world, but certainly the wisdom of the elderly is no joke. The eyes can be creepy, but also kind of sweet.
6. They have a hard time talking.
Babies are learning to communicate with words, and old people just need to speak up, because we’re not sure what either are saying.
7. They have a hard time listening.
While the babies have the excuse of being new to the world, older folks (even with hearing aids) can’t seem to understand what we’re talking about. Apparently we need a translator on call or closed captioning for family gatherings.
8. Neither of them can be left home alone.
Or else...
9. They take quite a few tumbles.
Falling babies are always funnier than falling old people. However, it’s something neither can avoid, given their lack of coordination.
10. They get distracted. A lot.
What where we just talking about?
11. Dance skills.
When it comes to the dance floor, babies and old people do their own thing without care. It's as equally funny as it is sweet, and to be honest, they all rock the same moves anyway.
12. They usually have a lot of people who love them.
Go give ‘em a good squeeze
