1. To see the lightbulb go off in a students' heads.
I was a Cadet Teacher at an elementary school for two years where I shadowed a Kindergarten teacher. I was even given the chance to test some of the students based on what they had learned. It was an awesome experience to see them get the answer right.
2. To change the future of the students to come.
Most kids at the age of one or two know how to use an iPad, iPod, or an iPhone.Technology really is an awesome thing, but on the other hand, it isn't. It deters some students from learning face to face. I'd like to change the way people think of the future generations to come.
3. The salary (just kidding)
The salary is not what I'm looking forward too. I could care less how much I get paid for teaching students. I just want to see students learn and see how they grasp different concepts. No one teaches for the salary. They teach because they love to see students learn.
4. The reward
As a future Kindergarten teacher, I have future doctors, lawyers, and preachers in my classroom. I can't wait to see the smile on my students faces when they get an answer correct. No matter how many bad days you have, it'll never amount to the good days you'll have with your students.
I am almost a junior in college with less than two and a half years to go before I graduate. I am so excited to see what God has planned for me in the years to come. As I move forward with my future career, I can't help but think how many students lives I might be able to change.
