Why I Am Pro-Life

Why every person deserves a voice, even the unborn.

In this generation, it is strange for a college woman to be pro-life. Women are always told that they should have rights to their own body and as a woman, I disagree with abortion. When I tell people that I am Pro-life, they dismiss my beliefs and tell me how it is wrong.

As a young women, I am met with both surprise and shock when people learn my beliefs on abortion. In today's society, it would be easier if I went with the majority view. But at some point in your life, you have to stand up for what you believe in and I do not believe in abortion. I believe that "Every life matters".

Every human life is valuable and should be cherished. A child is always a blessing and should be treated like on from the time they are conceived until the end.

I believe that life does not happen at birth, but happens at conception. From conception until birth the child develops just like it develops through the different stages of its life. It has to grow in the womb and grow from year to year to turn into the person they are meant to be. No human value should be diminished at any stage of their life.

I also believe in Pro-Life because would it be fair to punish an unborn child because you do not feel as if you can raise it? There are many other options that you can do besides ending a life. There are many couples that are in the world that would love to have children and can not. Babies can be dropped off at a hospital that can give the baby the medical attention it needs, as well as help with finding a home.

You do not have to have a child on your own. Women become mothers from the minute they find out they are expecting, just like the man becomes a father. Your parents, as well as the man's parents, now become Grandparents and a support system. You may think that aborting a child is a personal decision, but it's not. The child that may be only days old has already impacted so many lives and aborting the child would only break people's hearts.

It's not easy to be a woman and be pro-life because other women instantly think that you, as a woman, are against women's rights. I believe that being a Pro-life woman shows how strong I am. It shows that you do not put yourself first, but instead, you put your unborn children's rights first. An unborn child does not have a voice, but who better to be their voice that their mother?

In the words of Dr. Seuss, " A person's a person, no matter how small.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
