Why Alone Time Is Needed

Being around people all of the time is exhausting.

I have written about being introverted before but I wanted to delve deeper into why everyone (not just introverts) need alone time.

Some people thrive in large groups but having to do that all the time cannot be healthy. Everybody needs their time away to recuperate and enjoy not having to deal with others.

It is a cliche but it is true: life is short. We should not waste our lives always being reliant on others. Finding ways to occupy yourself is the best course of action because only you truly know what you like.

There are days where I do not want to be near people and that is okay. While I have a tendency to get bored easily, I can always find a way to make sure I have something to do while I am alone.

Others should be able to do the same thing. Being alone is a gift people need to appreciate. People can be hard to put up with so everybody needs to be able to step back and realize that time alone will help.

You can read books, watch movies, write, daydream, whatever you please. There are no restrictions on where your imagination may take you. Feeling like you cannot have fun without others around is just a cop-out. Life offers many opportunities that just need to be searched for to find.

If you can afford it, go on a vacation by yourself and see the things that truly matter to you. There would be no one to hold you back and you would not have to compromise with them. You could go and enjoy whatever your heart desires whether it be going to the beach or going sightseeing.

Allow yourself to be alone from time to time. It does not have to be all the time but at least try to find happiness without others around.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
