Why All College Students Are April Ludgate, As Told In GIFs

She's dark, she's expressionless, she's the grown up version of Wednesday Addams, and she's us.

Why All College Students Are April Ludgate, As Told In GIFs

When it comes to "Parks and Recreation" characters, the most relatable one to us college students has to definitely be the one and only April Ludgate. I mean, let's look at the facts: She's sarcastic, a little sadistic, and basically dead inside. If these descriptions don't explain the average college student, then the college student you know is probably studying Theatre, considering how good of an actor they are.

Still need more proof that April Ludgate is actually trapped inside of your soul, just begging to get out? Well, here are a few examples to prove to you just how much our lives relate to this bright and colorful poetic, noble land-mermaid:

When your best friend's friend is trying to get on your good side.

When you see prospective students on a campus tour.

When you go to a costume party and your friend is getting a little too turnt.

When you go to an interview of any sort and they ask you to tell them about yourself.

When your football team loses.

When you just think about finals week.

When your younger friends ask you for life advice

.

When you actually pull off a good grade on an exam.

When you're sitting in class and the professor asks you a question.

When you're about to get out of class right before lunch, but the professor goes over time.

When you first meet your roommate.

When people continuously ask you about how school is going, and you just can't take it anymore.

When it's been one of the longest weeks of your life.

When you're asked about what you want to do with your life after college.

When you go to family get-togethers.

And when you're dealing with just having to be a grown up in general.

In the end, we all have even the slightest bit of angsty, passive-aggressive, monotone personality to us, whether we choose to let it show or not. April Ludgate understands, and we will forever be appreciative of all of the ways she has showed how she just gets us. But that doesn't mean we can't dig a little deeper inside of our hearts and find a little bit of warmness and sunshine. Yes, with all of the duties we have to tend to, and all of the papers we have to cram, it can get rough trying to find that magical, tropical fish inside of ourselves, but it's all possible, and we can do this. Even our precious little April is capable of that strenuous task, and considering how much we relate to her, we can do it, too.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
