In today's day and age, it is great to see younger kids standing up for what they believe.

The March for Our Lives, an event where kids from all over the country marched to end gun violence, is an excellent example of kids standing up for what they believe. The kids in Parkland, Florida were the first to stand up to gun violence by going to Washington to demand an end to school shootings. This action spurred kids from all over the country to march against gun violence, and by speaking out against school shootings and massacres, they will change the course of history. It is good to see younger kids standing up for what they believe, especially since gun violence happens every day in different parts of the U.S.

It is good to see that the kids in Parkland are tenacious and courageous enough to stand against gun violence despite grieving for their classmates and siblings who died. Standing against violence shows that these kids are resilient and are able to bounce back even if the situation is difficult. These children are admirable because they have qualities people in today's generation should learn: tenacity, resilience, perseverance, determination, optimism, attitude, and courage.

Today's youth is breaking boundaries and societal barriers by coming to rally and protest a similar issue that happens in their own communities and towns. Children of all ages participated in the March for Our Lives, and conveyed the message that anyone and everyone can make a change if then come together for a similar cause. Today's youth are resilient individuals who are not afraid to speak out against issues in society. Adults should give them credit for their tenacity and admire their bravery for wanting to end gun violence in schools.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
