Why the '90s Inspired Sororities

Here are five reasons why the 1990s were really the years to give current sorority girls the most inspiration to life.

1. Two words: Spice Girls. That is all that needs to be said. These girls brought the true idea of sisters before misters. "If you want to be my lover, you've got to get with my friend."

2. Britney. We sure can never forget our beloved Britney. Britney Spears is the heart and soul of most of our childhood -- and even current karaoke days as well. She stole the guys' hearts and taught us that pigtail braids and a school girl's outfit can be rocked. All those private school students had some great inspiration.

3. Titanic. Now I will be honest and say that I hate emotional movies and avoid these at all costs, but this one is a true classic. It teaches us sorority girls about a new form of love. And let's face it, most sorority girls can get a little emotional. So for all you emotional ladies, all you have to do is pop in this movie and let it all out.

4. Disney! Who doesn't love some good ole Disney classics? The '90s were some of the best years for this. The Lion King, Toy Story and Toy Story 2 were products of this decade. And, of course, Beauty and the Beast. For all the beautiful brunettes in the world who wished they could be Belle, you must have been a '90s child.

5. The shows. The 1990s produced the classics, the best shows ever made. Hands down! Saved by the Bell, Full House, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and last but certainly not least, Friends

To the people who cannot relate to these fabulous outcomes of the 1990s -- I feel very sorry for you.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
