Who's the Hero?

How to find and be the hero.

Who's the real hero around here? Who's someone we can look up to? Who can set an example of what people should act and look like?

The social pull on this Earth is amazing but we need to use this power in a better way! I recently saw a video about a boy who is VERY wise! He got made fun of because of his Fila shoes. He urged parents to teach their kids to raise their kids on values instead of materialistic things. This is the best thing any parent can do.

Image is too important now, and it's hard for it not to affect us. I like to think of myself as a person who values morals more than material things and I think I do. Every once in a while I see something and want it, when I don't need it. Everyone does it, but we shouldn't. We should only care about what we think of ourselves. EVERYONE IS BEAUTIFUL! If you think you're flawed it's because the standards of society told you so...P.S. don't listen to society!

The other thing is filtering the way we act to who we are around. We should act like ourselves no matter what! Not agree with some people just because they want them to like us. Keep your opinions and values true and someone will appreciate them!

So back to who's our role model. The truth is there are good and bad people in every neighborhood and in every profession. You can't blame one race or profession for a major problem. The solution to every problem is do something! Nothing is going to change by complaining about the situation. So the answer is you be the hero. Find the good in every situation. Raise your kids to value other things than the things they own. Find someone good in every corner of the world and appreciate them because it's hard to be good in a world so filled with hate.

Here is your faith portion. There is a God and he loves every single one of you. He is the real hero and His entire story is in the bible for us all to lead by His example. There is also a Devil. This Devil tempts us everyday to be cruel and hateful people. But through God's strength we can help people and ourselves to become better people.

Don't be discouraged by this World. Be the hero and find the good in the world. Be a person our youth can look up to and encourage other to do the same!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
