It's coming down to the end of the NBA season, it's the most exciting part, The NBA Finals. A game to see with your friends and family either at home or in a bar, the fans who are rooting for the Golden State Warriors or Cleveland Cavaliers. From the excitement of the playoffs to the final round that is, The Finals, see who will be crowned the NBA Champions.
There's some questions to ask regarding them:
Who's the best team going into the Finals?
Honestly, hands down, it has to be Golden State Warriors. The pace, athleticism, passing vision, all these traits account for the better team. The road to the finals was not as easy for the Warriors, but in the end, it wasn't hard when you have Steph Curry on your team. There was a scare with
That's not even saying how instrumental Klay Thompson has been on the team too, scary for the Cavaliers to think that the other half of the Splash Brothers showed that when his shot goes in, he's just as deadly and decisive as the other, Steph Curry.
As for the Cavaliers, they've had an easy route going into the finals. Steamrolling through the Eastern Conference, winning the first 10 playoff games before mildly suffering against a tough Toronto side. It proved to be a tiny detour as the Cavs won Game 5 & 6, now with LeBron on to play the NBA Finals for an impressive sixth consecutive year.
Who's really the MVP? (LeBron vs. Curry)
The fight over who's the better player will be a debate for some years to come, but let's first talk about MVP status. The doubt here is if LeBron will get his rematch against two-time reigning MVP Stephen Curry for the NBA Championship. If LeBron can come away and lead the Cavaliers to the title, it will rank as his greatest achievement in the NBA so far.
Stephen Curry is deserving of the MVP award no doubt, winning the award unanimously; he's had a hell of a season. Credit to LeBron and Kawhli though, maybe a little strange to win the award unanimously but very deserving. This is Steph's year, his season and we're just here to live it.
Debunking who's the best player here, personally, you can't really compare them. Curry has been the best player of the year, while LeBron has been the most valuable player of the season. Cleveland would be bang on average without LeBron while Golden State would surely mount up a challenge or the NBA title without Stephen Curry.
Which team should be concerned?
Cleveland Cavaliers should be the team concerned. Why? Well, yes, they have LeBron James on their side, but let's face it, the team has some players that could be a liability during the finals. The positives comparing last year's final is getting the team back together, while Kyrie and Love were injured, the team struggled. Both fit for this final, they will both bond with LeBron to make his job a bit easier, accepting their roles to supply their star power when LeBron isn't up to par in his game. With all that said, these players haven't been at their best in this season.
This might not worry much since it's the finals, but it may have an effect. The Warriors won the two games against the Cavaliers this season. In the second game, a brutal 132-98 win by Warriors that almost cost David Blatt's job as a coach at that time. In the end, it was unusual to fire Blatt considering his 83-40 regular season record over the two seasons, fired midway on route to be the top seed in the conference.
Is it a worthy final?
Every final is worthy to watch, it's the NBA Finals. Undoubtedly, It has two of the best players in the world right now against each other, LeBron James and Steph Curry. But with how the Warriors have been playing throughout the season, their impressive regular-season wins (73-9) and with the Splash Brothers on fire, I have to say that this final may be a mismatch for the Cavaliers. With the Warriors having a deeper roster and being more balanced on the defensive side; only player other than LeBron will pose a threat on the offensive side to the Golden State offense.
All in all, it's a fun final, a repeat of the last 2015 NBA Final, with way more energy and strength from both teams.
Verdict: Golden State Warriors win, Game 6
