Everyone knows that Husker Football is a big deal here in Nebraska. I'm obviously a Husker fan but there are a couple of reasons that I didn't buy tickets this year and I'm going to lay them out for you. I bought tickets last year and maybe went to three games, where I always ended up leaving before half time. I don't really understand any sport, especially football. So I never really understood what was going on during the game.

In the student section we spend the entire time standing, so I always get tired and want to leave early. For most of the games, the weather is relatively hot so I am always sweaty and gross. Standing for so long makes my feet hurt and after about 45 minutes of standing confused at what is happening at the game it is time for me to just call it a day and go home.

The tickets are really expensive. I am a broke college student like most students out there and I like to spend my money on things I enjoy, like clothes and makeup. So if I really want to see the game I can just watch it on a TV somewhere.

That being said, I still absolutely love gameday! Nebraska game day is one of the coolest events I have gotten to experience so far in my life. The atmosphere is completely different on gameday than any other day on campus. People come from all over to support the Huskers and celebrate the game at Memorial Stadium.

You are surrounded by a sea of red that is buzzing with excitement for the game. Throughout the day you walk by people who will yell out "GOOO BIIIG REEED" to which you always respond "GO! BIG! RED!"

The culture of a Nebraska gameday is so magical and would not be complete without the tailgates. Tailgating is tons of fun! Like I said before, so many people come from all over the place to support the Huskers and many of them like to set up tailgates where they have different food and beverages set up for them as well as the occasional tv or radio so that they can stay up to date with the game. There are so many students who come together to celebrate game day, Pinnacle Bank Arena even has a tailgate for the Greek community where they hand out free food and have vendors there.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
