Hey, gang! Halloween has sadly ended. November has begun and brought autumn along with it, finally. Thanksgiving is on the way! This doesn't sound too bad, so far. Then, we realize... The semester is almost OVER! Finals are shortly after Thanksgiving break.

While this is supposed to be a relaxing and fun time of the year, students are in crunch time and forgetting about what sleep is. That is why this is the perfect time of year for one of our childhood friends to give us a little laughter in our time of need. I would like to introduce everyone to SpongeBob Squarepants, as he explains college in the best way he can think of.

1. There are four primary years of college.

Each year has a different phase. Some people stay in only one of these phases. As a freshman, I understand that I go through this EVERY day! SpongeBob went through this!

2. Move In Day!

Everyone loves move in day. This is where you will live for a semester or a year. These are the people who will experience the adventure with you. Your roommate could become your best friend.

3. Laundry day.

Some people love doing laundry at the dorms, while others hate it for different reasons. Some have never their own laundry. The washer is never open. The dryer is never open. Some people even continue to take their stuff out of the washer or the dryer.

4. College students, who need sleep, have trouble going to sleep.

The other people in the dorm are up and noisy all hours throughout the night. Good luck getting sleep, everyone!

5. When your roommate/ best friend has class, and you don't.

My friend, Kiera, and I are close. We spend our weekends together. Sometimes, she is busy. Sometimes, I have work. This is what happens to us!

6. You pay for this. You pay for that.

Only t-shirts are free here!Tuition is so high these days that it is outrageous to pay for it. This doesn't even cover the other fees that people have.

7. When students try to pay for college and only have a few dollars.

Paying for college is the most difficult thing to do as a young adult.

8. People waiting for scholarships and grants.

The best option that people can do is apply for every possible scholarship or grant out there. Apply! Apply! Apply! It does not stop once you get into school!

9. Everyone is always broke!

Most of the money that students have ends up going towards college and food, whether necessary or not. When you have to get someone a gift, the best option is the free option.

10. When syllabus day doubles as lesson one day, and you end up taking a bunch of notes.

What could be so important that it couldn't wait one day, right? Some teachers want to fly through a lesson on the first day of class. This is a difficult thing to get through as students transition into the school year from summer break.

11. First day of lab. Who knows what we are supposed to do?

Many science classes have labs. Students are confused about what to do in these labs that last two to three hours.

12. 8 AM classes and the teacher trying to make you laugh.

This is too early to focus. This is too early to catch a joke.

13. The NEVER ending To-Do List for College Students.

You will always have something that you have to do. Once you finish something, another thing will come up. If you think you are finished, you are not. It is most likely something important that you forgot.

14. Cannot get rid of a headache?

Too much homework. Not enough money. Not enough sleep. Not enough healthy food. Not enough GPA.

15. When you are in class, and the teacher is going over a new lesson.

You just figured out the last lesson. Another lesson comes up , and you are lost again!

16. I must start and finish this paper!

Procrastination at it's greatest! Many students do not start a paper until the night before it is due.

17. When studying gets too boring and it is hard to focus.

You just started studying, and you need a break from all that hard work.

18. When the professor says that you will actually need to read Chapters 1-9 to pass a test.

270 pages two days before the test. Good luck!

19." This is not a multiple choice test."

When there are too many short answer questions, and there are no multiple choice questions on an exam.

20. Leaving class first after finishing and failing the exam.

The test was too hard, and you did not study. You must leave the room confident.

21. When the professor hands back a test.

You remember how poorly you think you did on the exam. This is the time to shed some tears.

22. You think you failed your test.

The teacher hands it back. Your grade is passing! How did this happen? This was luck.

23. Studying for Finals be like...

24. The beginning of finals is the beginning of tears.

This is the hardest part of the semester.

25. The end of finals is finally here.

Time to throw the brain away!

26. You all made it through the semester!

Time to party and relax before you start it all over again the next semester.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
