I want to let you in on a little secret. You know those voices inside your head? They’re lying to you.

No matter how many mistakes you make along the way, no matter how worthless you may feel; you are always enough. We all have troubles, we all have days when we want it all to be over, we all have our ups and downs but it’s how we deal with them that define who we are. How WE deal with them not our inner voices.

I see that beautiful smile on your face but I know it’s not real. I know the difference because I’ve been there before. I know what it’s like to feel completely useless yet feel the need to keep it all in and put on a brave face. The feeling of being obligated to always stay so strong and stand tall. I want you to know something: your tears do not define you and they do not mean you are weak.

In life there will always be many toxic people but you can’t see them until you are able to be one with yourself and find your true inner happiness. One day you will realize that you are worth so much more than them and you shouldn’t have to fight for their acceptance. I know it hurts to let go but sometimes it hurts more to keep holding on. One day the force will drag you under but if you let go you will finally realize your true inner worth.

Whether you are part of the popular clique, the dorks, the jocks, or the one who doesn’t belong. Your worth surpasses all stereotypes. You are worth so much more than the standardized test scores, more than the number on the scale, more than the cost of the clothes on your body or the shoes on your feet. You are worth more than your insecurities and all your fears. You are worth more than anything in this world. You are a diamond whether you love yourself or you can’t stand to look yourself in the mirror.

No matter who you think you are, you are worthy of love and happiness. The love and happiness that will set you free. The kind that’ll make you realize that you can change the world because you are strong, you are powerful, you are beautiful and you are perfect inside and out.

You will never be too much and you will always be enough. You are perfectly imperfect and worthy of all earthly things. Let it out, your tears are not a sign of weakness. Let it be, things will get better. One day you will let out a smile and I will see it in your eyes that you realized that you are worth more than anything in this world and that you are always enough.

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
