When it comes to 'Game of Thrones' everyone has their own opinion on everything. Including who the 'Night King' is. Not much is known about the night king, he is the biggest antagonist on the show and is even more dangerous then Cersei Lannister, which is shocking with what she has done over the whole inter series.
This is what we know- we know the basics with the limited scenes he has been in, we know he is old and was human before turning into a white walker by the children of the forest, which was thousands of years ago.
He has the ability to transform children into white walkers and also raise the dead, we don't know if he is the only one that can do this.
So who is the Night King? Some think he is The Night's King from the song of ice and fire series or his he someone? The Night's King in the book is described as he was said to be the 13th Lord Commander of the night's watch.
he was then seduced by a woman who has not been seen in the series, she is described has to have blue eyes and pale skin, which is how the white walkers look, and once the two had matted she stole his soul.
But according to George R.R. Martin, the two characters are not one and the same. and this may be true since there are some characters from the book that never made it into the series or came back from the dead.
So fans have their opinions and speculations of who he really is, one opinion is that he is Bran Stark, because in the book series, "Old Nan" would tell the kids stories of the Nights King and tell the tales of his family origin, she even said that maybe was a Stark of Winterfell, And maybe his name was Brandon.
And this is a good theory, Bran has been connected to the night king because of the three-eyed raven, Maybe he got stuck in the night king just as he did in Hodor.
Some also think he's the old three-eyed raven,
But by following the books and making the night king Barn that would be predictable, so I think that he is someone completely different, either a character we have never met or someone we have but would never think he would be the night king.
I think he could also be a Targaryen, and the reason I say that is because he can control a dragon, and only Targaryens can control and ride dragons, like Daenerys and John. even though John is not controlling the dragons yet, they still let him ride them.
The Targaryen symbol is a three-headed dragon, well now you have three dragon riders, Daenerys, John, and The Night King, and we know that two of them are Targaryen and maybe so is the night king.
And some will say that he can control the dragon because he made him a white walker, and I don't think that matters, Targaryen's are the only ones to control them.
