Don't apologize or fake apologize for whatever size you are, whether it’s a 00 or a 14 or anything else. Yes, I’m calling it fake apologizing because we all know those articles are about promoting whatever image and message it is they're pushing. And each article that has said sorry for their size, they also said some version of "no, I won’t apologize for being *insert naturally thin or curvy or thick.*" Literally just wear your damn pants and don’t tell anyone what size you are.
It’s fake apologizing because you’re proud of your body, you say as much. Yes, BE PROUD OF YOURSELF. Love your body. You’re beautiful. Body shaming goes both ways—from thin to thick and thick to thin and it ALL needs to stop.
Let’s relax about the articles and stop broadcasting our pants sizes on social media. If you’re comfortable and you look hella good in them, who gives about the number on the tag?
And if we’re all honest, women’s clothes sizes are all absurd anyway. That sh*t makes ZERO sense and we all know it. Sizes get smaller every year, so soon enough everyone will have to get used to buying a bigger number, even if the inches and the numbers on the scale (which don’t matter) stays the same. We’ve all seen the picture of the girl with different short sizes from different years from the same store. If you haven’t, it’s a really annoying picture, and here’s why:
The smaller size from a few years back is actually bigger than a larger size from this year. So a 00 from five or six years ago is a larger pair of shorts than a 6 from last year. What genius thought that would be a good idea, I really want to know. Clearly not a female.
So the world wants us to think we’re getting bigger and want us to lose weight to maintain a pant size. Great. One more thing women need to worry about when it comes to appearances.
Weight loss is wonderful, being healthy is wonderful. If the two don’t always coincide, that’s fine. If you struggle with weight loss, find a friend to work out and eat healthy with. Or don’t. If you struggle to keep weight on, head to Chipotle more often. Or don’t. Who cares? It’s your body and no one can tell you what to do with it or what it should look like.
Just in case you're skimming or didn't get that last bit:
It’s your body and no one can tell you what to do with it or what it should look like.
Obviously, you should always strive for your healthiest self, and if your healthiest self involves a little more curves or is stick thin then rock the f*ck on.
So stop being mad that someone is a size 00 or a size 14. Stop being mad that they are proud of their body. Stop looking for pity or praise or whatever it is you want for having a naturally ______ body. Stop body shaming, regardless of the size you’re picking on. And stop being so damn indignant about your size, because if we’re honest, there’s more important things to worry about than pant size. Like Nick Viall being the next Bachelor.
