As Christians, we get caught up in living in this seemingly "perfect" idea of life. So much so, that we start to judge anyone who sins. We just think everyone that worships Christ should be living a life exactly like ours, way better than the average person might.
Don't you get it? WE are the average person. Everyone but God is just average. Sure, some may be more special or gifted than others, but compared to the creator of the universe, we are so small and average.
Sometimes as Christians, we give ourselves a bad name. Instead of praying for others that sin, we like to sit in our cliques and judge. Just because your whole clique prays everyday, worships God, and lives a fruitful life DOES NOT MAKE YOU, IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM, PERFECT. We could be living the best life possible, but we will still sin. Whether you believe it or not, judging is a huge sin. Have you looked at someone's social media posts and thought, "OMG, how can they post that? That's so disgusting".
You've sinned.
Have you look at someone's clothes and thought, "They look so trashy."
You've sinned.
Have you talked behind one of your friends' backs?
You've sinned.
We are all guilty. We're all sinners.
It is our job as Christian's to lead in example and share Christ's word so that we can all live the least sinful life possible. Matthew 7:1-5 states:
"1“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. 3“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye."
If these verses don't open your eyes, then I don't know what will. How can we look at someone else's sins when we, ourselves, are sinners? It's not fair to the person in question, it's not fair to us, and it's definitely not fair to judge something that God made. The same person that made them made you! Be thankful for that. He can create people of all shapes, sizes, attitudes, and religions. We are not made to judge, but we are made to love.
So like the golden rule, Luke 6:31 says "31Do to others as you would have them do to you." Make it your mission to love and cherish every single individual you meet, and most importantly, pray for them. If they haven't found Christ yet, be an example of why they should.
