Black Friday is around the corner and every store seems to have what you need and more for ridiculously low prices. I'm here to tell you not to fall for these "one" day low deals. The actual deals require patience and the right amount of persistence.
Black Friday of course is on Friday and comes the day after Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks for what we are fortunate to have such as the people and opportunities in our life. This holiday has been overshadowed by a day about the exact opposite, selfishness and hoarding. Black Friday serves no true purpose other than to give us an unnecessary reason to get up at ludicrously early times to buy things we don't need. Yes, that 64 inch smart TV looks worth it but when you already have one for each room where is the deal?
At this point, you are probably questioning and are feeling deterred from going Black Friday shopping. If not you have reached the part you have been waiting for; how to beat Black Friday and still get those great deals. Simple, don't go Black Friday shopping. If you have read up to this point you would believe this advice is because of my distaste for the "holiday". Although true this is not why I believe in this sentiment.
The way to beat Black Friday is to go shopping the days and weeks after. Much of those same deals will be offered if not at a lower price. The reason for this is because Christmas is coming, companies understand people are always shopping late for the holiday. Look at Black Friday as the precursor to a month-long sale for most department stores. Shopping is about finding the best deals and these stores lead you to believe Black Friday is the only day you can get them.
Black Friday is an event/holiday I have participated in and will continue to whenever I'm dragged out of bed. The key is to be aware of what you are buying and if you actually need it. Our society is all about a deal and a day devoted to such a thing is treasured however we have to stay on our toes. Something may look like a deal but is the exact opposite or is a standard discount. Let's turn our attention back to the most important holiday, Thanksgiving. Instead of rushing to eat the turkey or to get to bed early take that time to relax and spend it with family. How often do you get to see your cousins visiting from Norway? Probably not often, so give thanks instead of currency.
