10 White Elephant Gifts People Actually Want

Gift exchanges are fun in theory, but in practice they're really quite the challenge. Everyone loves getting a good gift, but let's all be honest and admit that it's a pain coming up with something that measures up to everyone's expectations. It's so hard to conjure up a gift that everyone will love. Every. Single. Year. So to get some gift-giving inspiration going, here's a list of random things anyone from 18-50 is sure to (hopefully) love.

1. Cards Against Humanity

Anyone who doesn't own this game absolutely should. It's like a right of passage into adulthood. Bring this gift to a white elephant party, and you won't be embarrassed when people ask you what you brought.

2. Products from popular TV shows

Just think of shows that are popular: Grey's Anatomy, Friends, The Office, Parks and Rec and Game of Thrones. You'll be able to find a cost-effective gift from any of these hot shows on Amazon or at stores anywhere. Someone at the party is bound to be obsessed with one of these shows and will be thrilled to see that some of the merchandise made its way to the exchange.

3. Cool drinking glasses

~Classy~ glassware is always a good addition to any home. Bonus points if you get beer to go with it.

4. Tailgate Accessories

When do you not need a portable grill? The answer is never. These are handy all year round but are especially necessary during tailgate season. Easy setup, easy takedown. What's not to love?

5. Onesies

A onesie is literally never a bad idea. It seems like a gag gift, but it's certainly one that everyone will want.

6. Gift Cards

Gift cards may seem like the easy way out, but I promise they don't go unappreciated. No one can really complain about free money. Whether it's for gas, groceries or, for the love of all that is holy, Target. There is no way to go wrong with this one.

7. Hangover cures

Anyone who has had a bad hangover knows that they'd be willing to buy 20 boxes of Bojangles if they could just get rid of that feeling. Hangover cures that more and more people have been coming up with are brilliant. This is a gift that is so useful it'll have everyone stealing it.

8. Bath and Body Works Products.

'Tis the season to buy anything and everything from Bath and Body Works. Any woman there would be all over it. Whether it's from their holiday line or the aromatherapy line, the products are sure to be a favorite for someone at the party. *candles are especially encouraged*

9. Favorite Team Gear.

Where you live normally has something to do with who your favorite team is. Whether it's a shirt, blanket or any other team gear you can think of, someone will definitely want it. Gear for college teams are a smart buy too.

10. A Portable Speaker.

The reasons to own a portable speaker are endless. They're basically a necessity now. There's a ton of options for under $30, so you won't have to spend an absurd amount to get people fighting over your gift.

With the season of giving. also comes the season of taking- white elephant gifts that is. Don't let your present be one that no one wants to steal for themselves. Let 2016 be the year that you finally up your white elephant gift game.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
