Reflecting On This Semester

Take the leap because you never know where you will land.

Reflecting On This Semester

Have you ever met someone and you just clicked? You knew that you would be in each other's lives for a long time, be there for each other and help each other through most things? I feel like that is what college does. College throws you into this group of people and you know that you all are going to be best friends for a very long time.

When I first made friends here at school I was torn between the "me" that was safe or the "me" that was going to actually take the jump and go and do what I wanted. I had the group of people that I felt I would mesh well with or the group that my roommate was going toward...I was torn but I did what I didn't think I would do: I took the leap.

I decided to not take the safe road. I became friends with one of the guys in my dad's old social club here and began getting to know all of them. I made friends with the swimmers and I ended up falling for the blue eyed red headed ΣΑΣ that my dad had introduced me to.

While I'm looking back on this crazy first semester I just realize how amazing it is to find your people. I have some of the greatest friends and my am I thankful for that.

So as finals start and everything begins getting crazy just remember that your friends are still there for you. Don't let your stress push the people closest to you away.

Happy finals!

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter
morethanwheels

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
