In the television show, "The Office", Steve Carrell, plays the role of Michael Scott as the branch manager of a Paper Company in Scranton, PA, who is often not sure how to be a manger, says the wrong thing 90% of the time and loves the phrase, “That’s what she said”.
There are many people under his leadership, all with hilarious and completely relate-able personalities that will make you laugh till you are hysterical.
As I just finished all of the seasons about a month ago, I now reference it constantly. In doing so, I am interested in revealing to you all some characters’ personalities that you might fit right into.
1. Those that are dramatic, confused about their own confusion, rolling with high self-confidence of their own body image and always in need of affirming words from the opposite sex, I present you the Kelly Kapoor personality. You might be dating a jerk. Even though you are clueless of what to say, you just spout out the first, sassy and blunt thing that comes to you.
2. Not the math guy of the group? Always thinking of homemade chili, cakes, and eating hot dogs on the beach? You may not be all there, but frankly, you do not care at all. You laugh at your own jokes. You're sometimes referred to as the goof, but you don't know it. Even if you aren't good at what you do, you try your best and have a huge heart. I present the Kevin Malone accountant award to you lovely people.
3. You’re full of ideas, yes. You are wanting to succeed, yes. But you are lacking some essentials. The effort, for one. Also, you hate authority, suck at dating, and you may not know how to smile. And you got a real good judgmental face that you wear, normally. Sorry to say it; you’re friends probably know it, but you are Ryan Howard.
4. Hello to the ultimate try-hard of the group. Yes, the one we all laugh about and pull pranks on. You have the guidelines from your company’s HR guy tattooed to your chest. You have the answer to every question or thought your boss comes up with...even when your boss just wants you to shut up. However, you are the most loyal person that anyone will meet. You stick to every word that comes from your speech, and you will do anything. Anywhere. No limits. You are the one, the only, Dwight Schrute.
5. The funny girl out of the group. The one girl who has all the humor, the warm smile, the logical brains, and the one that dates the best guy, not just the ‘all-star football player’ stereotype. You have a keen eye for understanding and relating with people, you are reliable, and you give your all no matter how little credit you receive. Making the best jokes, being humble, and being with the funniest, nicest guy, you are Pam Beasily-Halpert.
6. Lastly, you are a light-hearted person with a positive outlook on most things. You may not have the most prestigious position, but you are so proud of it and you treat it like your child. In addition to poorly timed inappropriate jokes due to your awkward nature, you spout out comments that can be highly disrespectful and painfully embarrassing for others to hear. Although you have some sentence forming issues, persay, you are such a softy, and love others deeply in a unique way. You are Michael Scott.
You may be able to put yourself in one of these, but if you cannot, I encourage you to watch The Office and find your spirit-office-worker personality. It’s worth it.
