Tale as old as time... the classic debate between the East coast and the Midwest, which pizza style is better? No offense to the West coast, but your pizza does not even compare. Countless articles have been published ranking the top pizza places in the U.S. and some have cited deep dish as being superior over thin crust and vice versa. In one corner of America, people say that there is nothing better than thin crust, New York style pizza. However, smack dab in the middle of the U.S. people claim that Chicago-style deep dish is the second coming of Jesus Christ. So I am writing this article to settle this debate once and for all.
OR
New York-style thin crust pizza. Now this classic version of pizza is not one to be ignored. This type of pizza style allows you to devour many pieces or slices coated with fair amounts of cheese and sauce and what ever topping you so desire. Everyone loves a good large, thin slice of pizza when you need something quick.
Mikaela Arredondo claims that thin crust is better "because it's easier to eat and I like the taste better."
However, excellence and pure beauty take time, no one wants to eat something and not savor every bite.
Thus, as to the purpose of this article. Chicago-style deep dish pizza could never possibly compare to the likes of its thin crust counterparts. The mass amounts of sauce and cheese surrounded by an exquisite butter crust allow you to appreciate the delicacy that is Chicago-style deep dish pizza. While for thin crust pizza you need to eat multiple slices to satisfy your hunger, deep dish fills your stomach up on just one, MAYBE two slices. Therefore allowing your mouth to savor every single bite of deliciousness. Chicago and the Midwest have revolutionized the pizza industry with their monumental invention, and ever since then, America has never been the same.
Shaun Fox claims deep dish is better because "it's different and coming back from college it's always nice to eat because it's only unique to Chicago. It's like an upside down pizza."
Therefore, Chicago-style deep dish pizza superior to its thin crust cousin. Nothing can beat savoring a slice of deep dish stuffed with whatever you desire. East Coasters may argue otherwise, however, this is one of the deciding factors that determine why the Midwest is the best.
