If you love Harry Potter as much as I do, you've probably already figured out "your house."
If you like Harry Potter a moderate amount, you might be curious about what Hogwarts house you belong in.
If you're relatively new to the Harry Potter scene, you might not be able to tell the four Hogwarts houses apart from one another.
Either way, this article is going to illuminate what it means to be a Gryffindor, a Hufflepuff, a Ravenclaw, or a Slytherin. Then, at the end, if you're unsure of your Hogwarts house, you can take the quiz to find out.
The house of the daring and brave.
To be a Gryffindor, one must be brave, daring, and chivalrous. Those in the Gryffindor house tend to be athletic and popular. Unfortunately, the bravery can sometimes lead to recklessness and a feeling of being superior to everyone else. Some of the more famous members of the Gryffindor house include Albus Dumbledore, Minerva McGonagall, and Harry Potter.
The house of the loyal and fair.
To be a Hufflepuff, one must be humble and kind. Hufflepuffs have big hearts and are full of goodwill. They are friendly to everyone, regardless of house. Hufflepuffs can have a hard time being productive and have a lack of drive. They don't like to compete against the other houses. Some of the more famous members of the Hufflepuff house include Newt Scamander, Cedric Diggory, and Nymphadora Tonks.
The house of the wise.
To be a Ravenclaw, one must have intelligence and creativity. Members of Ravenclaw are resourceful and need very little outside help. They tend to make the highest marks in their classes. However, some members of Ravenclaw can be arrogant due to their high intelligence and only want to spend time with members of their own house. Some famous Ravenclaws include Luna Lovegood, Gilderoy Lockhart, and Garrick Ollivander.
The house of the ambitious and cunning.
To be a member of the Slytherin house, one must be resourceful and cunning. Slytherins are considered ambitious because they want the best life has to offer---and they will do anything for it. Unfortunately, Slytherin is usually painted as the "evil" house, which is completely untrue. Every house produces a bad apple or two---right? Many Slytherins will argue that the ends justify the means and may be sneaky to get what they want. Some famous Slytherins (besides You-Know-Who) include Severus Snape, Horace Slughorn, and Merlin.
Now that you have had the run down of what it means to be a Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin, why not test for yourself? I, myself, have already tested and confirmed what I thought. I am a proud Slytherin.
