When the sorting hat lands on your head, what will it decide? Because everyone is unique, Ilvermorny houses are included so that you can find your best fit!

Aries: Gryffindor

Aries is characterized by courage and the natural inclination to lead, just like most Gryffindors. Their since of moral correctness and willingness to fight for justice, however, is what sets them apart from the house that is their next-best fit, Wampus.

Taurus: Hufflepuff

Taurus is easygoing, but stubborn and determined when it comes to building up their lives and providing for their loved ones. Taurus is not afraid to get their hands dirty and work hard also but enjoys the time they spend patiently relaxing and simply enjoying life.

Gemini: Thunderbird

Gemini is the adventurer of the zodiac, just as Thunderbird is the adventurer's house when it comes to schools of witchcraft and wizardry. A Gemini loves to be free, experience new things, and uplift those around them. To others, their personality is commanding and seems to soar.

Cancer: Pukwudgie

At first Cancer may seem moody and cold, just like William the Pukwudgie, but romance and security are key to them. Cancer will do anything to protect and care for their loved ones, and are inclined to help others in need. Pukwudgie is for healers, and Cancer will always do their best to nurture those around them.

Leo: Gryffindor

Surprise, surprise, surprise. The Lionhearted Leo turns out to be a Gryffindor, and not just because of symbolic imagery! Leos are natural leaders, with a certain strength of character and a characteristic penchant for drawing attention. Leo is determined to do what they feel is best against all odds and consequences.

Virgo: Ravenclaw

Virgos demand perfection of themselves in all things, including academics. They are logical and organized, even when they feel like their lives must be chaotic. Their ability to judge things for what they are and provide constructive criticism is what lands them in Ravenclaw.

Libra: Wampus

Libras are organized, analytical, and full of good judgement that helps them not only improve their circumstances, but also the circumstances of others. Wampus is for warriors, and Libra has no issue with fighting for their sense of justice.

Scorpio: Slytherin

Scorpio is considered the powerhouse of the zodiac, with immense willpower and ambition, just like Slytherins. Scorpio is passionate, like many Slytherins we know, and has an easy time expressing their opinions and devotions.

Sagittarius: Thunderbird

Sagittarius is creative and adventurous, and would be a valued member of Thunderbird. While Gemini represents the typical Thunderbird student, Sagittarius represents the leaders who would one day become heads of house or prefect due to their instinct to take charge of most situations, and inspiring charisma.

Capricorn: Hufflepuff

Capricorn is ambitious, but has loads of patience where others tend to lack it. Their ability to see things through to the end in a steady, calculated way makes them a successful Hufflepuff as opposed to a Slytherin. Their innate kindness and tolerance is only shrouded behind layers of wit and sarcasm that make them not only interesting individuals, but great friends.

Aquarius: Horned Serpent

Aquarius is a creative intellectual, and therefore takes their place as Horned Serpent at Ilvermorny. The Horned Serpent represents the mind of a wizard, and is symbolic of the dragons that soar over the Americas. Likewise, Aquarius is free-thinking, successful, and commanding.

Pisces: Pukwudgie

Pisces is passionate, imaginative, and often emotional, as was William the Pukwudgie himself. Incredibly family-oriented, Pisces will do anything to aide their loved ones. They have free spirits that allow them to stand up for themselves and others, and will never compromise their morals.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
