Which Comes First: The Turkey Or Santa Claus?

With Halloween just ending and Thanksgiving just around the corner, the issue of premature Christmas decorating is on the rise.

Let's be honest, you probably still have Halloween candy on your fingers and roaming around your house. So tell me, why just hours of Halloween being over do people feel the need to start putting up Christmas decorations like they're going out of style?

Trust me guys, Christmas isn't going anywhere, and decorating a month early won't make it come any faster. Actually, last time I checked, our friend Thanksgiving comes first.

A whole month before Christmas.

Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas movies, lights, and Good Ol Saint Nick as much as the next guy, but we should give the turkey the time to shine.

Skipping over Thanksgiving decorations and going straight to Christmas is like your parents skipping over your birthday and starting to decorate for your sisters birthday that's two months away.

Sounds ridiculous right? That's because it is.

Let the pumpkin spice lattes and the basic fall photo shoots with your friends ease the seasonal transition before you stick Santa Claus in your front yard and running up your PG&E bill by sticking a million lights outside.

Who knows, maybe during the "transition" period you could stick up some turkey decorations.

Make Thanksgiving great again. Stop premature Christmas Decorating.

But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
