In 2003 the Black Eyed Peas released a song called "Where Is The Love" and while recently listening to it on Spotify, this song is more relevant to things that are happening now more than ever. Here is the song verse by verse and how it is related to today and all of the horrors that we face daily.

What's wrong with the world, mama

People livin' like they ain't got no mamas
I think the whole world addicted to the drama
Only attracted to things that'll bring you trauma

I constantly ask myself what is wrong with people or how could another person do that to someone. I refuse to watch the news anymore because they only show negative things that are happening in our world. The news only shows the negative things that happen in the world because that we are so attracted to those things.

Overseas, yeah, we try to stop terrorism
But we still got terrorists here livin'
In the USA, the big CIA
The Bloods and The Crips and the KKK

We are still constantly battling terrorism inside and outside of the USA. With the mass shooting in Orlando that recently happened there are clearly some thing that need to change that we as a country are still working on.

But if you only have love for your own race
Then you only leave space to discriminate
And to discriminate only generates hate
And when you hate then you're bound to get irate, yeah

Black lives matter, white lives matter, no matter what your race is we are all human and all lives matter. If we discriminate a certain race then we are only going to leave room for more troubles and more problems. Black, White, Hispanic no matter what your race is we are all humans and we should all care and love each other no matter how different we all are as individuals.

Madness is what you demonstrate
And that's exactly how anger works and operates
Man, you gotta have love just to set it straight
Take control of your mind and meditate
Let your soul gravitate to the love, y'all, y'all

If people would let more love into their lives then more hate then this world would be a much better place. Now a days people only focus on negative things instead of the good and negative feelings are contagious so once one person starts feeling negative then a lot more people do too.

People killin', people dyin'
Children hurt and you hear them cryin'
Can you practice what you preach?
Or would you turn the other cheek?

People always talk about how things need to change but once something awful happens then people just turn away and act like they didn't know anything about it because they do not want to be held responsible. Instead of people saying that things need to change and doing it we just say things need to change and leave it at that and hope someone else does it. This is so wrong.

Father, Father, Father help us
Send some guidance from above
'Cause people got me, got me questionin'
Where is the love (Love)
Where is the love (The love)
Where is the love (The love)
Where is the love, the love, the love

We pray to God for a solution to all of our problems when we should be praying and also working towards a solution to the worlds problems. God can help us find a solution but God will not just hand you something that you do not deserve or did not work for.

It just ain't the same, old ways have changed
New days are strange, is the world insane?
If love and peace are so strong
Why are there pieces of love that don't belong?

The world has changed so much in the past few years. The world is more geared towards hate which also means that people are geared more towards hatred. I often think to myself is it really that hard for people to spread love instead of hate in this world?

Nations droppin' bombs
Chemical gasses fillin' lungs of little ones
With ongoin' sufferin' as the youth die young
So ask yourself is the lovin' really gone

With all of the wars that are going on in this world it is very hard to see a positive side to any of this because of all of the horrible things that have come from wars.

So I could ask myself really what is goin' wrong
In this world that we livin' in people keep on givin' in
Makin' wrong decisions, only visions of them dividends
Not respectin' each other, deny thy brother
A war is goin' on but the reason's undercover

Respect for others is something that this society barely values anymore. Now a days everyone thinks that they are better than another person and that their opinions matter more when this is not true because we are all equals.

The truth is kept secret, it's swept under the rug
If you never know truth then you never know love
Where's the love, y'all, come on (I don't know)
Where's the truth, y'all, come on (I don't know)
Where's the love, y'all

Sometimes it is hard to tell the truth from a lie. People need to do their own research on some topics and formulate their own opinions based off of the facts that they learned not just the facts that they heard on the news.

People killin', people dyin'
Children hurt and you hear them cryin'
Can you practice what you preach?
Or would you turn the other cheek?
Father, Father, Father help us
Send some guidance from above
'Cause people got me, got me questionin'
Where is the love (Love)
Where is the love (The love)?
Where is the love (The love)?
Where is the love (The love)?
Where is the love (The love)?
Where is the love (The love)?
Where is the love (The love)?
Where is the love, the love, the love?

Nothing in this world is going to change or get better without love and guidance from God.

I feel the weight of the world on my shoulder
As I'm gettin' older, y'all, people gets colder
Most of us only care about money makin'
Selfishness got us followin' the wrong direction

In today's society it seems that making money and getting rich is more important than doing the right thing and being honest with people. If money and power wasn't such a big deal anymore then this world would be a better place.

Wrong information always shown by the media
Negative images is the main criteria
Infecting the young minds faster than bacteria
Kids wanna act like what they see in the cinema

The news and the media only show the horrible things happening in the world. They do not show anything good and if they do then it is very fast and they do not focus on it.

Yo', whatever happened to the values of humanity
Whatever happened to the fairness and equality
Instead of spreading love we're spreading animosity
Lack of understanding, leading us away from unity
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' under
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' down
There's no wonder why sometimes I'm feelin' under
Gotta keep my faith alive 'til love is found
Now ask yourself

What did happen to basic manners and respect? All of a sudden that is impossible for our society to do. Worlds like please and thank you can really go a long way for some people. Such a small gesture can mean so much to people.

Where is the love?
Where is the love?
Where is the love?
Where is the love?
Father, Father, Father, help us
Send some guidance from above
'Cause people got me, got me questionin'
Where is the love?
Sing with me y'all:
One world, one world (We only got)
One world, one world (That's all we got)
One world, one world
And something's wrong with it (Yeah)
Something's wrong with it (Yeah)
Something's wrong with the wo-wo-world, yeah
We only got
(One world, one world)
That's all we got
(One world, one world)]

We only have one world and one life, so why should we not make the best of it and try to make it an even better place for generations to come to live in? This song was made in 2003 and could not be more relevant to today. Just think about these lyrics and how they fit with today's society and everything that is going on in the world. If you have never heard this song here is the video on YouTube:

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general.
