These empty rooms
They seem to know more about our souls than we do
After we've washed our skin of sin
We wait and watch and wish for the city lights to fill our souls
We laugh and party with friends
But when we get in
We go to the window
Looking for something outside of ourselves that we couldn't find within
We see through the glass
How the light shines through
We try to mend
We try to bend our thoughts
We remember how we laughed
How we danced in the Chapel Light
We prayed we'd find ourselves
But it never worked as well as them
And they always found us
They always find us
These Windows
in these numbered rooms
through these halls of doors
we may all be lost
But we will find ourselves there
Behind the windows that mingle the outside with what's within
Where My glass meets my light
Meet me there
That's where I long to dance
That's where I long to grow
That's where we'll build these bodies back up again
that's where I'll build my body back up again.
