Where does it go?

It was a normal Tuesday night as my friends and I hung out and watched TV when suddenly one of us realized we only have three more weekends before our sophomore year at Penn State concludes and summer begins. I can’t even begin to fathom how I will soon be halfway done with my college career in a matter of three weeks. As the time approaches to leave State once again, I attempt to recall all of this past school year’s most notable memories and am struck with the realization that they all feel as though they happened yesterday.

They are right. Time surely does fly.

We went from being incoming freshmen who barely knew how to navigate our ways through LionPath to soon-to-be juniors who know all the loopholes and tricks for surviving such a big university.

All of the humorous blackouts, brutal break-ups, unforgettable girls-nights in, midnight food splurges, and silly adventures in between—where did they all go?

For many, especially myself, realizing how fast time moves along can be truly scary to grasp.

The beautiful part about time slipping through our fingers unfolds once we understand its value and begin to acknowledge each and every moment of importance. Realizing how short-lived moments in our lives truly are can only push us to live in each and every moment whole-heartedly.

So as this school year comes to an end and we become those washed-up upper classmen, remember to live in each moment, good or bad, as if its your last. We’re only getting older and before you know it, you will be thinking to yourself “Woah, I remember reading that cliche Odyssey article about the importance of embracing time like it was yesterday.”

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
