There is so much going on in the world lately that is scary. So scary that even I have to sit back and appreciate the little things I have in life and wonder how I cannot let what is going on in the world hinder me.

Sometimes looking at everything that is going on can discourage you. It can make you think about things differently and ultimately lose hope. I am here to let you know a few things that will help you (us) stay in the right direction that we want to go in.

An important thing to always to is to find the common ground in every person. You have to realize that we are all human which means we are not the same. We all have different tastes, perspectives and situations. Finding (or trying to find common ground) in everybody keeps us together but teaches us how to respect each other and love one another.

One thing I have to always tell myself when things get tough is that, "It is just a test." We all have storms that will test us until we feel that we will break. As long as you remember that it is a test and that it is temporary, this will make you weather the storm.

While everything seems to be going bad, this is the best time to put more focus into your school work, goals and career. Believe it or not, you will most likely get a lot done and be at your highest potential during this time.

This is the time to learn. You may ask, 'Learn what?' There are many things you can learn during this time such as, learning about yourself, learning from your mistakes and experiences, or just simply learning everything that comes along with life. When we learn these small (or big) things, it helps us gain wisdom and experience.

The final, but very important thing I should mention is learning how to control your pride. Pride and confidence is something powerful and good to have for yourself. It also is the reason why many things are happening today. Sometimes people put their pride over everything (morals, family, friends, etc.). We have to remember that right and wrong are more important than our own pride. It is not easy to do but it is important for us to do this in order to move in a positive direction.

If you do not remember anything from this article, remember this, 'Everything in life is a mindset.' Life is not perfect and situations are going to look bad to the point where it looks like there is no good. Always say and think positively because your words and your mind is powerful. It will eventually show.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
