Distance is never easy.

It is not an ideal situation to be far from the person you love, whether you're two hours or twenty-two hours away.

I know people that dated for years in high school and broke up as soon as they got to college, because they didn't want to try the distance. However, we did. It was incredibly hard to go from walking through the halls of our high school together and hanging out every day after school to having basically two separate lives.

As cliche as it may seem, there are days when I miss him so much that it physically pains me. My heart hurts. I am experiencing all of these new things in this brand new place. So, it feels like he should be here with me. For us, the concept of "out of sight, out of mind" doesn't ever occur, because we are always thinking of each other and talking.

Communication is so important in a long distance relationship. When you're close, talking every second of the day seems like a lot. But when you're far apart, knowing where your person is during the day can make you feel a lot more comfortable. Being able to trust the other person is key, because if you can't, the relationship will never work.

Sometimes fighting can escalate when you're miles apart. There's so many emotions between both of you, and all you want to do is see them. When you have those fights, try to call them. Just hearing their voice can make everything better.

I am no expert, and I am still dealing with this too. When you find someone that you want to spend the rest of your life with, you will do whatever you can to make that happen. Long distance is hard, but with the right person, it'll be worth it.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
