10 Ways To Know If Your Mom Is Actually Your Best Friend
Taylor Coleman

Do you have that one friend that you tell everything to? You know, the one that you can talk to for hours at a time and never run out of things to say. The one that knows anything and everything about you. The friend that can talk you down when you're having a fit, and talk you up when you've hit rock bottom (a.k.a. exam week when you've had little to no sleep and feel as if your dreams will never come true). Well, that person happens to be my mom! As corny as it sounds, I don't know what I would do without her in my life. So just in case you're not sure, here are 10 signs that your mom may actually double as your best friend, too!

1. You call her.... ALL THE TIME.

Let's face it, anytime anything happens she is the first person you call. Whether it's something small or something big she is the first person you want to talk to! Often times you may even find yourself counting down the minutes until you know she will be able to talk, and you know she is doing the same.

2. That feeling you get when she watches one of your shows without you.

I'm pretty sure that if DVR was around when the 10 commandments were written this would be one of them. I mean, why would she even think to watch one of your shows without you? Of course, she feels the same way when you accidentally do the same.

3. You know she always has your back, no matter what.

She may have never met the people that you interact with everyday, but if someone does something to you she will always be the first to have your back. She knows all about "What's Happening" and frequently asks for updates.

4. She acts weird in public, yet it doesn't embarrass you.

Probably because she passed the weirdness down to you, too.

5. She is the only one that can keep you from having a mental breakdown.

When life gets rough and you start going on a pity party, she is the first person to bring you back to reality. I mean, who will care if your clothes matched on September 17, 2016 in 5 years or that you made a C in that one class your freshman year.

6. You always call her first when you need advice.

Most importantly, she is always willing to give it. I mean, she does have the best advice a girl could ask for so why wouldn't you call her first?

7. You have an equal love for all food.

If your weekends home and road trips evolve around the food you will be eating, then this one definitely applies to you. I mean, why go somewhere if the food is going to be less than spectacular.

8. She knows everything about you, no matter how embarrassing it may be.

She knows all of your secrets that I am sure will come back to haunt you one day. However, you wouldn't change it for the world. I mean, who else could you trust with this important information?

9. She is your biggest fan.

She is and always has been your biggest supporter, reminding you daily just how proud she is of you and all of your accomplishments. Through everything you accomplish you know that she will always be there, front and center, waiting to cheer you on.

10. When you leave after a weekend visit you get serious withdraws.

Lastly, you miss her more than anything else while away and frequently count the days and nights until you are reunited again.

If all (or most) of these are true, then congrats! Your mom also doubles as your best friend, which I'm sure you know by now happens to be one of the greatest blessings in life. So go home, visit, eat lots of food, hug her tight, and count down the days until your reunited again.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
