When You Love Your Hometown

There's no place like home.

85

This is where we grew up.

To those of us who didn't move around a lot, you either love your hometown or you don't. You may run out of things to do or you can always find something to do. Our hometowns are special to us, so much so that some of us want to come back there after college and raise a family. You could live in a big city with 30,000 plus people or in a small town with 500 people, but you grew up there, so it'll always be in your heart.

1. There's always something to do.

When you love your hometown, there's always something that you can do, whether it's going to the pool, taking a walk, or going to the movies.

2. You know the history of your town.

You know who founded the town and when. A conversation could easily be had on this topic alone.

3. You always go to the town's events.

You live for the town's events. No matter the weather, you always go with your friends or family. They're the highlight of the season and you always have a blast.

4. You get homesick when you're away at college.

You could love your college and the town, but nothing can compare to your hometown. There's nothing quite like knowing your way around the town and getting to sleep in your own bed with real food.

5. You don't mind the school district.

Whether or not you had a good time in school, you probably like the way that the school was operated. If you're anything like me, you're proud to say where you went to school.

6. You have a secret place where you always go to.

Over the river and through the woods, but it could also be a hidden place in the woods near a creek or the local coffee shop. This is your place that you go to relax and to get away from the world.

7. School spirit was everything.

You literally lived for sporting events. Wearing your school colors, painting your face, and football rivalries were the best parts. Plus, you always went all out for spirit week, no matter how uninteresting it was.

8. You'd be content with starting a family here.

You had a great time growing up here. This place shaped you into who you are today. Why not stay here and start a family?

9. You can't wait for summer concerts.

No matter the band or where it is, you're always down to go hang with friends and listen to music. You know that it's a great way to unwind and enjoy the summer.

10. You love the town the way that it is.

Big, small, rural, suburban, or urban, you love it. Your hometown is everything to you because you grew up here.

11. There's no place like home.

This is where our friends and family are, so why wouldn't we love our hometown? You know all of the streets and the best places to eat and hang out, so it just feels natural to you. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
