If you’re like me, I don’t know what it’s like to live in a house without a piano. Even if you’re not like me or have little to no “music background”, you know and see the very evident impact that music has in our culture- in our world.

And the beauty of knowing music though, is encountering its ability to follow you everywhere. You can see its lingering impact and become immerged in its sounds no matter where you are, or what you’re doing, becoming mesmerized.

And in the darkest places, most confusing scenarios, busiest atmospheres and most quiet of moments, you can still hear the sound. You can still be influenced by its presence.

And unless you know music, you’ll never understand what this feels like. Rest assured, in the uncontrollable and wavering instances of life, there is a subtle influence that lifts your head, opens something within you and enables you to grasp the very presence of something. And that influence is the glorious mystery that is music.

And in this life- in this world, there is a rarity of consistency; a rarity to attain a sense rest and assurance in our time. The emotions and gravity of knowing and feeling music can not be underestimated. The immersive experience that is born when the knowledge of music is encountered, a mystery of unfathomable wonder occurs- an experience that I can only pray people allow into their lives.

And for the bewildering embellishment to life that music brings, I’m thankful and awestruck. But you must watch for it, practice it and you must encourage it.

If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
