Dear Best Friend,
They all say, "Oh you shouldn't go to college with your best friend because you don't want to ruin the friendship by being with each other 24 hours 7 days a week."
Going to college with you really hasn't changed our friendship. We may text and snapchat 24 hours a day, but even on our small campus I don't even see you everyday. I think since we aren't roommates that's why we are still as close as we are. Even though we are not sure how or when we became friends, I am so glad we did. Knowing you're there makes everything easier because if I need someone to vent to, I know you are right downstairs.
Thursday nights of freshman year will never be forgotten. Whether it be trying to get into the night club the first time, going to the Red Sox vs Yankee game when buying the tickets 10 minutes before the game, almost dying in an uber on the way to Primark, or the two times we had a blast at the Middle East...you wouldn't think someone's Thursday night would be this spontaneous.
Whenever I need someone to cry to because I have had a stressful week filled with tests and quizzes, or when a guy starts talking to me and I am not sure what to say knowing I can call you and you will come right upstairs means the world to me. I may be an emotional wreck all the time, but thank you for always being there.
Even though we have some of the same friends on campus, I am so happy we have some different friends as well. Being able to introduce each other to someone new we met that week and saying, "This is my friend from my hometown," not many people on a college campus can say that, and I am glad that we can.
When we are doing homework together in the Wentworth Library, Boston Public Library or in a classroom in Admin you wouldn't think we would get anything done. Surprisingly, we get more work done than anticipated. We may have our breaks where we talk for a half hour straight, but we always make up for it by doing even more work for the next half hour.
Thank you for always being down to go on a walk with me. Being able to clear my head walking around the city and just talking about our day and what the weekend will bring. If you weren't in my life anymore, I don't think I would have made it this far through the semester. Thank you for accepting me as I am and riding the emotional roller coaster I call my life with me. Everything you do never goes unnoticed. I cannot wait to take on the real world with you someday.
...And one last thank you for being my person.
Love,
Caitlin xo
